Daughter of a worker, Silviane LEGER worked from the age of 14 and then practiced various trades, advertising and journalism.
The proposal made to him to write a book on the creators of Flanders and Artois, allows him to meet several artists who give him the taste to carry out artistic studies :
- 1 year at the School of Fine Arts in Roubaix at the National School of Arts and Textile Industries (ENSAIT).
- 4 years at the Beaux-Arts in Lille
She will move towards monumental sculpture, mainly outdoors.
His first exhibition in Lille in 1978, is for Amnesty International.
The exhibitions follow: in Paris, in 1981, at the Musée du Luxembourg at  on the occasion of the hundredth exhibition of the union of women painters, sculptors, engravers and decorators, then in various European countries :  Netherlands - Germany - Belgium - Italy and in the United States (New York, Washington and Orlando).
In 1996 she obtained the first prize of the European woman sculptor.
In 2004 then in 2010, she was invited to participate in Lille 2004, and in Ruhr in 2010, capitals of Culture.
She sadly leaves us in 2012
