Rare and superb sundial with the arms of the United Kingdom, the lion and the unicorn.

Inscription "REDIME 1709", and motto "Dieu et Mon Droit" war cries of the British monarchy since the time of Henri V (reign 1413-1422).

This war cry would refer to the divine right of kings.

In French today, the phrase "Mon droit Divin" would respect the original meaning and lead to less confusion.

Superb condition for this historic piece from the early 18th century.
